How to find a song from a video link

A link-first way to identify music from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or X without downloading the whole video.

Link to Song is a song finder for video links: paste a public YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or X video URL and it identifies the music playing in that video. It is not a music smart link, a link aggregator, or a link-in-bio page.

You hear a song in a short video, but the post does not name it. To find a song from a video link, paste the public URL into Link to Song. It checks the video's music and returns a song identity when a match is available. You do not need to download the video or prepare an audio file.

Start with the original link

  1. Open the original video on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or X.
  2. Copy the video's share link, not a profile or channel address.
  3. Paste it into Link to Song, sign in, and start an identification with an available credit.
  4. Review the result and, if a song is found, compare the title and artist with what you heard.

The link must point to a supported video page. Private, deleted, login-only, or region-restricted videos may not be readable, even when you can watch them in your own account.

Identify the song without downloading it

Link to Song sends the supported video link to ACRCloud for music recognition. It returns song information, not an extracted audio file. A readable link does not guarantee a match: the audio still needs to correspond to a recognizable recording. A very short fragment, loud speech, or heavy edits may prevent a reliable result.

What a trustworthy result contains

A matched result includes:

  • the song title and artist;
  • cover artwork when available;
  • official music-service links when available.

If no song is confirmed, read the result state before retrying. No match means the analysis completed without confirming a song; technical failure means the link could not be read or processing could not finish.

When does an identification use a credit?

  • Successful song match: uses 1 credit.
  • No match, invalid input, link-reading or audio-extraction failure, provider outage, or system error: uses no credit.
  • Billing pending: the charge has not been confirmed. Check your credit history before trying again; do not assume the attempt was free.

It's free every day: everyone shares a pool of free identifications that refreshes daily. The pricing page lists the one-time USD 2.90 pack for 20 identifications, with no subscription. Purchased credits do not expire while your account and the service remain available.

What if the video is already playing on your phone?

You can also try Shazam on the same device. Apple's Shazam guide confirms that it can identify music playing in other apps, including TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. On iPhone or iPad, Apple's Control Center instructions explain how to add the built-in Recognize Music control.

See the Shazam and TikTok guide for those steps and the difference between listening to a playing clip and submitting its URL. If you want to start with the link, open the Link to Song finder.
