Can You Shazam a TikTok Link?
Shazam can identify TikTok music on the same phone. Follow the iPhone or Android steps, or use a song finder that accepts the public video link.
Yes, you can use Shazam to identify a song playing in TikTok on the same phone. That is different from pasting a TikTok link into a search box: the Shazam steps below identify playing audio, not a submitted URL. Apple's Shazam guide explicitly includes music playing in TikTok and other apps. You do not need a second device.
If you want to use the link without playing the clip, the TikTok Song Finder accepts a public video URL directly. Neither route guarantees that every sound will have a match.
How to Shazam a TikTok on iPhone or iPad
- Open Control Center, tap +, then Add a Control, and choose Recognize Music if it is not already there.
- Open the TikTok link and play the part containing the song.
- Open Control Center and tap Recognize Music. Make sure the musical part is playing while recognition runs.
- When a match appears, tap the notification to view the song. To find recent results, hold the control and choose History.
Music Recognition is built in; you do not need to install the Shazam app to use that control. These setup steps follow Apple's Control Center instructions. If your system labels or layout differ, use Apple's instructions for your device.
How to Shazam a TikTok on Android
- Open the Shazam app, go to Library, then Settings.
- Turn on Notification bar and follow any required permission prompts.
- Open the TikTok link and play the musical part.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and select Tap to Shazam. Open the result notification if a song is identified.
This is the notification method in Apple's Shazam guide linked above. It listens to music playing in another app; it does not ask you to paste the TikTok address into Shazam. If playback stops, resume the clip and try recognition again. If Shazam returns no match, try a clearer musical passage or check the video's sound label and comments; another tool may also be unable to identify an unreleased recording or heavily edited clip.
When to start with the link instead
Use the Shazam route when you can play the TikTok and want to identify the audio on your device. A link-based finder is useful when you have a shared URL and would rather submit it without arranging playback or preparing an audio file. Having only one phone does not require you to use a link-based finder.
How to identify music from the TikTok URL
- Open the TikTok video.
- Tap Share, then choose Copy link.
- Paste the URL into the TikTok song finder.
- Sign in, run one identification with an available credit, and review the result state.
- When a reliable match appears, compare the title and artist and open an official listening link.
Public full video URLs and vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com share links are supported. Private, deleted,
login-only, or region-restricted videos may not be readable.
What the result can and cannot tell you
A reliable catalog match can return the song title, artist, artwork, and official music-service links. It does not give you an extracted audio file from the TikTok.
Some sounds do not have a reliable match. The clip may contain an unreleased song, a creator's own recording, a cover, a mashup, or only a very short musical fragment. Loud speech and heavy effects can also obscure the track. In those cases, an honest no-match state is better than a confident guess.
For the special case where TikTok shows only a creator label, see How to Find a Song from TikTok Original Sound. For tempo and pitch edits, see How to Find a Sped-Up TikTok Song.
Does a link guarantee a match?
No. Submitting a public URL avoids setting up audio playback, but it does not turn every sound into a released song. Recognition still depends on the video being readable and containing enough clear audio that corresponds to a catalog recording.
The result should distinguish three situations:
- Match: the analysis found a reliable song identity;
- No match: the analysis completed but did not confirm a catalog track;
- Failure: the link was invalid or unreadable, or the service could not complete processing.
Only a successful song match uses one credit. No matches, invalid input, link-reading or audio-extraction failures, provider outages, and system errors use no credit. If the result says billing is pending, the charge is not yet confirmed; check your credit history before retrying.
Price and privacy in plain language
It's free every day: everyone shares a pool of free identifications that refreshes daily. The pricing page lists a one-time USD 2.90 purchase for 20 identifications, with no subscription. Purchased credits do not expire while your account and the service remain available.
The public TikTok link is sent to ACRCloud for music recognition. Link to Song saves the submitted link, request status, and result on your account for support, billing, abuse prevention, and recognition quality checks. Its analytics events are designed not to include the submitted URL, song title, artist, or account email. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
If the URL is the only input you have, paste it into the TikTok Song Finder and check the video directly.
