How Link to Song handles information used by the service.

Last updated: 2026-10-16

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains the categories of information Link to Song handles when you use the service and why they are needed.

Information the Service Processes

  1. Submitted links — The public social-video URL you ask the service to analyze. Each request is saved to your account as an identification record.
  2. Processing data — The supported platform, processing status, failure reason, identification result (song title, artist, album, cover image, and listening or search links), and the time and duration of the request. This is stored in the same identification record and is needed to fulfil the request, answer support questions, and diagnose failures.
  3. Google account information — Google sign-in is enabled. We receive the account details needed to create and operate your Link to Song account, such as a stable account identifier, name, email address, and profile image when Google provides them.
  4. Limited usage and device data — Explicitly designed page and product-interaction events, an anonymous or account identifier, page path, platform category, result or billing state, basic browser, device, security, and diagnostic information, your approximate country (derived from your IP address at the network edge; the IP address itself is not stored with these events), and your browser's preferred language.
  5. Cookies or local storage — Data used for essential sessions, preferences, security, anonymous analytics identity, attribution, and reliable event delivery.
  6. Billing records — Transaction status, order references, the payer's name and email address returned by PayPal or Creem, purchased credits, and related records. Link to Song does not store full card numbers.
  7. Support communications — Messages and account or order information you provide when requesting help, privacy assistance, or a refund.

Link to Song is designed to return an identification result, not to deliver an extracted audio file to the user.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, grant free identifications from the daily shared pool, process submitted links, return identification results, keep an identification record of your requests, review and improve identification quality, prevent abuse, keep the service secure, reconcile billing outcomes, provide credits and purchase history, measure the product's basic user journey, respond to support or refund requests, and comply with legal obligations.

Analytics Boundaries

Link to Song uses first-party and third-party analytics tools to understand how the service is used and to improve it. Analytics is designed to record how people move through the product rather than the content they submit: the link you paste, the identification result shown on the page, and the contents of form fields are masked or left out. Analytics may receive an opaque anonymous or account identifier, page path, platform category, result status, billing state, and related technical metadata. We do not sell analytics data and do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Service Providers

Link to Song uses the following service providers:

  • Google provides account sign-in and shares the account information described above according to your Google settings.
  • Cloudflare hosts the application and database and helps protect the service.
  • ACRCloud receives the public social-video link (for TikTok photo posts and sound pages, the public audio address of the sound they use) and related processing information needed to perform music recognition.
  • Creem acts as Merchant of Record and contractual reseller for purchases made through its checkout and handles payment, tax, fraud-prevention, receipts, and approved refunds for those purchases.
  • PayPal processes purchases paid with PayPal, including payment, fraud-prevention, receipts, and the refunds we issue for those purchases. From PayPal or Creem, Link to Song receives transaction status, order references, and the payer's name and email address, not full card numbers.
  • Resend delivers service and support email.
  • PostHog provides analytics tooling for the product surface described above.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and Security

Identification records — the submitted link, the resolved video address when a share link is followed, the page the request started from, request status, failure reason, identification result with recognition diagnostics such as match score and matched segment length, and request time — are stored on your account while the account exists. They have no fixed expiry date. We keep them to answer support questions such as a credit charged for the wrong song, to check identification quality, to reconcile billing, and to prevent abuse. You may ask us to delete them by emailing us, as described in the next paragraph. We may delete or de-identify inactive operational records when they are no longer reasonably needed. Account and support information is retained while needed to provide the service and handle requests. Transaction and refund records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations.

You may request deletion of account-linked information by emailing us. We may retain limited information when required by law or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We use reasonable safeguards, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to processing of, or delete personal information. Requests may be sent to the email address below. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account owner. These rights are not limited where applicable law does not allow limitation.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, by a notice in the service.
