Why can't it find the song in my video?
Usually for one of four reasons: the link isn't a single public video, the music isn't a released recording, the video can't be read, or the check ran out of time. None of these uses a credit, and each has something you can try next, listed below from most to least common.
No match, no credit used.
1. The link isn't a single public video
This is the most common reason, and it is caught before any check starts: the box was empty, or the link points to a profile, a photo post, a playlist, a search page, or a site that isn't supported.
Try next: open the video itself, tap Share → Copy link, and paste that. Supported sites are TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X.
2. No released song matches the audio
The check completed but found no match. This happens when the creator made the audio themselves, the song isn't released yet, someone talks over most of the music, or the audio is heavily sped up, slowed, or mashed up.
Try next: find another upload that uses the same sound, ideally one without voiceover, and paste that link.
3. The video can't be read
Private, deleted, friends-only, login-only, age-restricted, or region-blocked videos can't be opened by the recognition service.
Try next: check that the video opens in a private browser window without logging in. If it doesn't, look for a public upload of the same clip.
4. The check ran out of time
Very long videos, or a temporary problem with the recognition service, can stop a check before it finishes.
Try next: wait a minute and try again, or use a shorter clip of the same song.
