Can ChatGPT tell me the song from a video link?
Usually not reliably. When you paste a TikTok, Reel, or Short into an AI assistant, it generally cannot play the video and listen to the audio, so it answers from captions, titles, or other web pages, or says it cannot open the link. To identify the song from the audio itself, paste the same link into the finder on this page.

Why an assistant may get it wrong
Assistants read text. Many video platforms block automated access to the video, so the assistant may never hear the audio. It can then only guess from the caption, the sound label, or pages that mention the video, and those often name the wrong song or none at all.
Asked about the same Instagram Reel on two days, one assistant named a song once and said it could not access the Reel the next time.
Checking the actual audio
- Copy the video link from the app's Share menu.
- Paste it into the finder above.
- Compare the result with what the assistant said.
What works well together
An assistant is still useful after you have the song: ask it about the artist, the lyrics' meaning, or similar songs. Use a link-based song finder for the identification step itself.
